靜脈曲張會自己消失嗎？

休息或抬腿後，曲張靜脈有時會看起來比較平，腿部沉重或腫脹也可能暫時減輕；但已形成的靜脈曲張通常不會因此自行消失。
背後常見的原因是靜脈瓣膜閉鎖不全與血液逆流。外觀看起來有沒有變平，不能單獨判斷疾病嚴重度，也不能決定是否需要治療。

- 並非每一條看得到的血管都需要治療
- 症狀、皮膚變化與超音波結果要一起評估
1.為什麼休息後會比較不明顯？
- 躺下或抬腿時，重力造成的腿部靜脈壓力會暫時下降。
- 血管可能因此變得較平，但受損的瓣膜不會因休息而自動恢復。
2.什麼情況可以先觀察？
- 只有外觀變化，沒有明顯痠痛、沉重、腫脹、搔癢或皮膚變化時，可先從規律走路、避免久站久坐與抬腿做起。
- 是否需要彈性襪或進一步治療，仍應依個人症狀與血管狀況決定。
3.什麼時候建議安排評估？
- 出現持續痠痛、沉重、腫脹、搔癢、色素沉著或傷口。
- 曲張靜脈曾出血，或血管突然變得紅、熱、硬、痛。
- 站立式下肢靜脈超音波可以確認逆流來源，再討論是否需要處理。

Varicose veins may look flatter after rest or leg elevation, and heaviness or swelling may temporarily improve. Established varicose veins, however, usually do not disappear on their own.
The underlying problem is often valve failure and venous reflux. Appearance alone cannot show severity or determine whether treatment is needed.
- A flatter vein after rest may only reflect temporarily lower venous pressure
- Not every visible vein needs treatment
- Symptoms, skin changes and ultrasound findings should be considered together
1.Why can the veins look flatter after rest?
- Lying down or elevating the legs temporarily reduces gravity-related venous pressure.
- The vein may look less prominent, but a damaged valve does not repair itself with rest.
2.When is observation reasonable?
- If the concern is appearance alone and there is no significant aching, heaviness, swelling, itching or skin change, regular walking, movement breaks and leg elevation may help symptoms.
- Compression or treatment should still be individualized.
3.When should I arrange an assessment?
- Persistent aching, heaviness, swelling, itching, skin discoloration or a wound.
- Bleeding, or a vein that suddenly becomes red, hot, hard or painful.
- Standing duplex ultrasound can identify the source of reflux and guide the next step.
💡 Looking flatter does not mean reflux has disappeared

Note: Seek prompt medical care for sudden one-sided swelling or pain, redness and heat, or active bleeding from a varicose vein.
